Company History
What began in Columbus, Ohio in 1986 as a great idea between
founders Ed Bacome and Phil Fankhauser has grown today to several hundred
communities across the country. That’s
what happens when a great concept becomes a well executed community.
It took only 3 years for the central Ohio
communities to catch the attention of builders in other markets and soon the
communities were spreading out of Central Ohio, through the Midwest
and into the Mid Atlantic and Southeast region.
In 2008, after gathering the market’s most consumer centric
data on what maintenance free buyers are looking for in homes today; Epcon
Communities released their new Courtyard Series of homes. Today we’ve added an 8th Courtyard
Home to the collection and three of the eight homes offer bonus suites.
The response from residents has been overwhelming.
Today Epcon Communities is building in twenty-nine states
and have built in as many as 31 over the past twenty-five years.
