Buying An Epcon Home Was An Easy Decision for Dave and Darla

Buying an Epcon home was an easy decision for Dave and Darla. When they decided it was time to move to a single-level home in a community that better fit their needs, their first choice was Epcon. Dave’s mother had moved into an Epcon community 15 years earlier and had a very positive experience through the entire process. They had also spent time at her home and community so they already knew the homes and amenities provided by Epcon would be a perfect match for them too.

When It’s Time to “Rightsize” Your Home

In talking about their decision to move from their old home to a new Epcon home, Dave said, “We really enjoyed the home we moved away from. We lived there for 25 years and raised our children there. But there comes a time when your lifestyle changes and we wanted something that would fit our new lifestyle of not wanting a big place to maintain. Not cutting the grass, not taking care of the garden. So those types of things we wanted behind us and we found it here at Epcon at the Courtyards on Riverside.”


Buying A New Construction Home

While buying an Epcon home was an easy decision for Dave and Darla, choosing the homesite, the floor plan, options and finishes for your new home can sometimes be overwhelming for anyone who has not gone through that process before. Dave and Darla chose the Portico floor plan for their new home in the Courtyards on Riverside which was the first new home they had ever built. The open layout design of the Portico makes hosting family gatherings and dinner parties easy, which they love.


While talking about the process of buying an Epcon home, Darla said, “It was easy. Once we found the location and had a chance to see the models and the opportunity to look at lot locations. We actually picked one that is straight west, so we have the sunset every night. It was important for us to find a location that was comfortable and a house that had space enough for us to entertain in.”


Dave had some initial concerns about how the meeting to choose the options and finishes for their new home would go because Darla had a design background. But that concern evaporated quickly when they started working with the Epcon designer. Dave said, “this young lady was phenomenal in working with Darla to make those decisions and it came out looking beautiful.”


Dave and Darla genuinely feel Epcon did a great job of taking care of everything they needed, even after they moved in.

Building a home in a 55+ active lifestyle community with amenities such as a clubhouse, luxurious pool, fitness center, walking trails and sidewalks is a major benefit to homebuyers. In describing the amenities in their community, Darla mentioned, “As far as amenities here at our Epcon home, the Clubhouse is wonderful. We’ve had many outings there with other neighbors. Great place to meet the other neighbors. It's been a wonderful experience and there’s been a lot of great organization to get us together for cards or wine tastings. The pool is wonderful, we’ve had our grandkids to the pool many times.“


In reflecting on their move to an Epcon Community, Darla said, “You know it’s been six months, and it’s been a smooth move. It’s been very comfortable, and I think it’s a lot to do with the ease of the move and getting into the home and having our whole family very close. So, it was a nice combination.” Dave added, “The thing that I saw was a builder who cares about what they build and how it works for the people that live in their homes.”
