Discovering Open Floor Plan Layout New Homes

Initially, Chip and Sharon struggled to find the type of community they desired, and Chip mentioned, “We were looking to downsize, and we couldn’t find a community or a house that we liked. Every home we looked at was basically a starter home. And we wanted a house that was finished, complete, modern, up-to-date, tight, and taken care of."

Once they found The Courtyards at Kinnamon Park, a new active adult community developed by Epcon, they finally found the community and home they were looking for. Chip said, “I sold real estate for 12 years, and I never saw a house finished as well on the exterior as an Epcon house”. Sharon cheerfully added, “Walking through the Epcon home, we knew this was it. We are so much more relaxed now!”

Chip and Sharon chose the Portico single-level open floor plan layout home, which was just what they were looking for. They love the separation of the bedrooms and that it includes an office/den and a private courtyard off the main living area. They now have all the space they need with plenty of storage in their new home, which is perfect for their lifestyle.

In talking about how much they enjoy living in their new Epcon home, Sharon mentioned, “We spend most of our time in the living room ... actually, we call it “the lounge.” It’s just a little bit of everything. Sometimes we have lunch in front of the television, I crochet in there and it’s open to the kitchen. I can still talk to Chip if he’s in the office doing stuff and it’s nice and bright. I like the natural light that comes in through all the windows”.

Community Amenities and Location Make the Difference

Sharon was so positive about their new home, the community and its location, she told some friends about Epcon at a church luncheon soon after moving. She said at least four other couples ended up buying new homes in their community after seeing what Epcon had to offer.

Sharon said, “What I like in the community is that we’re very close in proximity to the clubhouse, which was great in the summer for swimming. I like all the walking and the nice level sidewalks. We have a trail through the woods and that’s fun for walking. So, you get plenty of exercise and don’t have to go far”. Chip added, “And it’s a loving, friendly community”.

At our age, we have plenty of free time, we just want to spend it on things we love”. Sharon added, “Epcon made that easy”.
